/for spam.

I got my first spam to my… for those that don’t know what /for is, it’s a way to tell people about links you think would be good for them. I was trying to use it for all my friends that I send links to, make it a asynch way to tell them about cool stuff. It never really clicked for me, so I stuck with gmail. I had totally forgotten that I had a feed for my /for in my feed reader (reblog now!). But I noticed today I got a spam for a memory game (no link love for you!).

Strange. Should I send this to Joshua Schachter?

Oh, and congrats Meg and Jason :)

23 – what an odd number

23… that’s how many subscribers I have to my “rss feed”:
23… that was also one of the best years of my life (although this one is shaping up to be pretty awesome too).

on a different note, I just started a reblog. I’ll post the link if I decided I like the way it’s working out. As it stands now, reBlog is a really really nice hosted (self hosted) feed reader. I love “Net News Wire”, but it’s sync’ing STINKS. So I’m gonna try this one out. Anything to avoid bloglines.

Seth Godin has a large jacket problem.

Watch this now. I’ll wait.
You back? Ok.
I really “got” a lot of what Seth has to say. At parts I got the feeling that he’s the kind of guy that has an answer for everything, but great show he put on.

I met some of the “Squidoo”: guys as the “How we built Flickr”: seminar. They kept talking about this “Seth” guy. Now I see why they were so enamered.

Here is the stuff I really liked:
* Permission marketing. If people like what I do, why NOT be able to tell them about it
* Flipping the funnel – AWFUL name, but awesome idea. Get your die-hards to be your best marketers.
* Telling (selling) a story. I think that is part of why “Spell with Flickr”: was so popular.
* Not needing to be the FIRST one out there (but get out there long before it’s stale). Again, I didn’t make the best spelling tool, but mine is easy to use, and easy to pass around your creation.

So, all in all 8/10 stars.
